Aurora Borealis-140210_MG_5088 On a cold night with clear sky and weather permitting, we head out to some beautiful locations in South- or West Iceland, to catch a glimpse of the green-stuff, the Northern Lights. Unfortunately there is no guarantee of seeing the Northern Lights, even though we try our best.
Normally a tour is 4 hours from the time I pick you up, until you come back again. The greatest possibilities to see the Northern Lights are between 22:00 and 03:00 hours at night, and I plan in advance where the best conditions are, cloud coverage and some interesting landscape and foreground, such as Thingvellir national park. I might have to change the plans if the weather conditions are not favorable, trying the day after instead.
You should bring warm clothes, flashlight, your camera with fully charged battery's and a tripod. If the weather forecast turns out to be bad for Northern lights you will be contacted before 18:00 the same day, and we can reschedule if you or I have other nights available. I can not offer the same level of service as the big tour companies, but on the other hand it will be more relaxed and flexible. We deal with the weather when the time comes :) it is constantly changing over here.
Dates: Tours available from September through March.
Duration: 4 hours with a driver and a photo guide. Pickup at 20:00.
Group: Max 6 passengers, min 2 passengers
Price: $210 pr. person.
Not included: International flights, accommodation and food.
